1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using HaulRater ("the Site," "our tools," or "the Service") at haulrater.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when changes are made.
2. Description of Service
HaulRater provides free, browser-based calculators and reference tools designed for aggregate hauling and trucking professionals. These tools include, but are not limited to:
- Haul rate and cost calculators
- Fuel surcharge calculators with live EIA diesel price data
- Distance, time, and productivity calculators
- Material conversion tools (tons to yards, etc.)
The Service is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove features at any time without prior notice.
3. Disclaimer of Warranties
HaulRater is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The calculator results are accurate, complete, or suitable for any specific purpose
- The Site will be available uninterrupted or error-free
- Diesel price data retrieved from the EIA is real-time or error-free
- The Site is free from viruses or other harmful components
All calculator outputs are mathematical estimates based solely on the inputs you provide. Real-world hauling costs are affected by many variables not captured by any calculator, including but not limited to road conditions, equipment wear, regulatory requirements, and market fluctuations.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HaulRater and its owners, operators, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of or reliance on the calculator outputs
- Business decisions made based on information from this Site
- Inaccuracies in third-party data (such as EIA diesel prices)
- Interruptions in service or loss of data
Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Site is to stop using it.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use HaulRater only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Site
- Use automated tools to make excessive API requests through the Site
- Misrepresent the source or accuracy of calculator outputs to third parties
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site or its infrastructure
- Use the Site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation
6. Intellectual Property
All content on HaulRater — including but not limited to the site design, layout, graphics, logos, and original calculator logic — is the property of HaulRater and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You are permitted to use the calculator tools for personal and commercial business purposes. You may not reproduce, republish, sell, or create derivative works from the Site's design or code without our express written permission.
The HaulRater name and logo are trademarks of HaulRater. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

HaulRater uses data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), a government public data source. We are not affiliated with the EIA and make no representations about the accuracy or timeliness of their data.
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content or practices of any third-party sites.
8. No Professional Advice
Nothing on HaulRater constitutes financial, legal, tax, or business advice. The tools are designed to assist with estimates and general calculations only.
