1. Who We Are

HaulRater ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at haulrater.com. We provide free trucking and aggregate hauling calculators and tools for industry professionals. Questions about this policy can be directed to info@haulrater.com.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly: If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is transmitted via your default email client and is not stored on our servers.

Information entered into calculators: All calculator inputs (rates, distances, tonnage, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. This data is never transmitted to or stored by HaulRater.

Automatically collected information: Like most websites, our hosting provider may collect standard server log data including your IP address, browser type, referring pages, and time of visit. We do not control or have access to this data beyond standard hosting logs.

Local storage: We use your browser's local storage solely to remember your light/dark mode preference. No personal information is stored.

3. Third-Party Services

HaulRater uses a small number of third-party services to deliver the site:

• U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) — We make API calls to the EIA's public data service to retrieve current diesel fuel prices. These calls do not include any personal information. See EIA's privacy policy.
• Google Fonts — We load the Poppins typeface from Google Fonts. Google may collect basic usage data from this request. See Google's privacy policy.
• Web Hosting — Our site is hosted by a third-party web hosting provider. Standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be retained per their standard policies. We do not control or have direct access to these logs beyond normal hosting administration.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other behavioral tracking or advertising technology.

4. Cookies

HaulRater does not set cookies. Your theme preference (light/dark mode) is stored using browser local storage, which is not a cookie and is not transmitted to any server.

5. How We Use Information

The limited information we receive (server logs and contact form submissions) is used only to:

• Respond to your inquiries and support requests
• Monitor site health and diagnose technical issues
• Improve the accuracy and functionality of our tools

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry. Server logs are retained per our hosting provider's standard policies. Calculator data is never retained — it exists only in your browser session.

7. Your Rights

Because HaulRater does not collect or store personal information, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. The only exception is if you reached out via our contact form — if you'd like that correspondence removed from our records, email us at info@haulrater.com and we'll take care of it promptly.

8. Children's Privacy

HaulRater is designed for use by trucking and aggregate hauling professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our site grows or as legal requirements change. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
